Physical exercise and transgenerational programming in offspring
Talk Abstract
Transgenerational epigenetics is suggesting a link between parents’ behaviour and lifestyle during conception and pregnancy and the subsequent offspring’s development. Exercise performed by parents might have a direct impact in the offspring through the transgenerational programming of different tissues, including skeletal muscle. The presentation will briefly discuss the epigenetic machinery involved, at least in part, in offspring programming and how parental physical exercise seems to have an impact in health-related offspring outcomes.
