Adriano Martinoli
Urban mammals in Italy

Adriano Martinoli graduated at the University of Milan in 1992 and is from 2023 full professor of Zoology at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences, University of Insubria (Varese). Research interests deal with conservation biology, behavioural ecology and wildlife management, mainly using mammals as model organisms. Research focus is on small and medium-sized mammals, with reference to mammal ecology, ethology and conservation, as well as management and population/behavioural ecology of Italian bats. Further interests are in management and conservation of rare and endangered species and in habitats and wildlife management. In recent years research has been focused on the ecological and behavioural interactions between native and introduced species, and the effects of alien species on local zoocenoses, also addressing issues related to applied research and the practice of wildlife management.
