Urban mammals: consumption of human resources, health and stress physiology
I am currently a postdoctoral associate at the University of Münster, Germany. My research is primarily focused on the interface between behavioral ecology, ecophysiology and environmental change. I aim to elucidate which behavioral and physiological responses enable animals to adapt to natural and human-induced rapid environmental change, and to assess the consequences of these responses for health, survival and fitness. I study the effects of urbanization and anthropogenic food waste consumption on the physiology and health in small mammals. In my research projects I combine an ecophysiology approach with observational data and methods from veterinary science.
